a play with music by Alan Cullen March 1975
A musical documentary set against the backdrop of music hall, revue sketch, monologue and folk song, the play chronicles the violent stirrings in the Sheffield politics of the 1860's.
The central problems then as now, were, wages and prices: the unions fighting the small employer and the machine: a new business attempting to compete with a monopoly.
