a drama by Maurice McLoughlin 10.05.94 - 14.05.94
It is 1950 and the communist revolution sweeping through China has now reached a remote mission station and orphanage. The new Communist government has taken over and there is widespread persecution of nuns and priests throughout the province. The Mission has been cut off from the local village and the orphaned children removed.
A letter arrives from Mei Cheng, the new Governor General of the province, addressed to Sister Magdalen, the elderly nun who had looked after Mei Cheng when he was an orphaned boy many years previously, and who is the General's godmother.
