William Whittaker a wealthy industrialist loses his sight. His relatives start to take advantage of him and they hope that his end will be soon too. His sister tells him of what is happening.
William goes to London for an operation. He returns and the news is that he is still blind. This is a ruse - he has been cured - but he wants to see what his relatives are getting up to.
