a comedy by John Hastings Turner February 1938
The Rev. John Head Is discovered writing a sermon on the text which forms the title of the comedy. He is an un-business-like clergyman, whose wife keeps continually at work to find the money for his charitable extravagances.
The mother-in-law wishes to make presents to the vicar's twin daughters, Elizabeth and Catherine. One present is to be a trip to London, and the other, several yards of crepe do chine.
The test as to which girl will receive the trip to London depends on who will attract a dealer in antiques.
Produced by Miss C.Gregory by arrangement with Samuel French Ltd.
Performed in the Gatty Memorial Hall Ecclesfield
