a play with music by Alan Cullen 21.11.88 - 26.11.88
A musical documentary set against the backdrop of music hall, revue sketch, monologue and folk song, the play chronicles the violent stirrings in the Sheffield politics of the 1860's.
The central problems then as now, were, wages and prices: the unions fighting the small employer and the machine: a new business attempting to compete with a monopoly.
This was the first production by Ecclesfield Priory Players on the stage of their very own theatre, The EPPiC Theatre.
This play was originally performed by EPP in 1975 in Ecclesfield Town Junior School
Produced by Harold and Sylvia Jones by kind permission of the author
