a comedy by Kenneth Horne March 1947

The action of Act I takes place on Wednesday and Thursday and shows what might have happened if Jo had said "No."

The action of Act II takes place on the same two days, showing what might have happened if Jo had said "Yes."

The epilogue reverts again to Wednesday and shows what actually happened.

But the plot isn't the only remarkable thing in this pleasant little comedy. It's the characters who matter: seven of the most genial, the most refreshing, the most amusing fuddie-duddies people this play as have ever walked upon a stage - and what a stage? Even the setting, Living Room of the Rectory, which the author describes as "homely and livable but in a perpetual state of wildest confusion," adds its share to the uniqueness of the evening.
